What is Peace Region Music Industry Conference?
A 3-day conference entailing 3 sections of the music industry. Music Industry info sessions, Songwriters Workshop, and
Concert of Songwriters. This conference gives local songwriters, musicians, and performers the opportunity to expand their
skills, create a network of contacts and experience success, whether it be in their own backyards or on the Billboard charts!

Music Industry Sessions
Here you will learn how the music industry works. What is SOCAN, or the Alberta Music Industry Association? What does a
producer do vs an engineer. How do I copywrite my song? What should I do before I go into a studio to record? How do I
find someone to sing my songs to make demos. Songwriters Etiquette...what’s that? So many questions and more will be
answered though information sessions or by talking to our experienced panellists or other participants of the weekend. You will
create a new network database of names and contacts.

Songwriters Workshop
For two days you will be mentored by award winning songwriters while co-writing with other participants. Duane Steele, Jay
Semko (Northern Pikes) and Russell Broom (songwriter & guitarist for Jann Arden) and will guide groups of songwriters to
achieve a song by the end of each day. Saturday’s workshop will give each group the opportunity to perform the song written
that day on stage at the Concert of Songwriters.

Concert of Songwriters
Saturday evening will feature the songs written that day at the songwriters workshop performed by the songwriters themselves.
Individual songwriters may also have the opportunity to sing their own original songs while sharing the stage with Duane Steele,
Jay Semko or Russell Broom . More info to come soon on the Concert of Songwriters page.

At the Belle Petroleum Centre in the beautiful Town of Peace River, Alberta, Canada. Hosted by No Limitz Music, who is Sherry
